Challenge: Instructional designers often rely on intuition or stakeholder feedback to evaluate learning effectiveness, missing the opportunity to leverage powerful data insights. Without a strong understanding of how to interpret learning analytics, designers may overlook patterns that could improve learner engagement, performance, and course outcomes.
Solution: This virtual instructor-led training guides instructional designers through the fundamentals of using data to inform design decisions. The course covers essential topics such as defining learning analytics, identifying key metrics (like completion rates and time-on-task), interpreting LMS data, and applying predictive analytics to anticipate learner needs. Through collaborative data analysis activities and a structured design workflow, participants learn how to identify learning gaps, personalize content, and implement continuous improvement strategies backed by real-world data. This training also comes with a facilitator guide with slide-by-slide guide and discussion prompts.
