Date: April 2025
Target Audience: Data Center Technicians and Program Managers
Challenge: Many data center employees struggle to write clear, results-based performance evaluations due to vague language, poor documentation habits, and difficulty recalling their contributions over time. As a result, their evaluations often underrepresent their impact, leading to missed opportunities for recognition, raises, and career advancement.
Solution: This eLearning course introduces the Career Growth Tracker, an Excel-based tool that helps employees log tasks, outcomes, and impact throughout the year. Through realistic examples, guided practice, and interactive activities, learners gain the skills to translate their work into strong performance statements. Designed in Articulate Storyline using Merrill’s Pebble-in-the-Pond model, the course is short, practical, and immediately applicable.
IDOL Academy Purpose: This workbook was used to document my instructional design process from start to finish using Merrill’s Pebble-in-the-Pond model. It demonstrates my ability to:
Conduct a needs analysis and identify a real-world performance problem
Translate stakeholder input into performance and organizational goals
Perform a task analysis to break down the necessary skills
Develop realistic scenarios, learning objectives, and assessment strategies
Design a progression of demonstrations, practice activities, and feedback loops aligned to learner needs
